Oktoberfest – September 22nd and 23rd
Nothing says fall like Oktoberfest! This free event is held on Friday, September 22nd and Saturday, September 23rd at Veterans Memorial Park. Friday’s events start at 5 p.m. and wrap up at 11 p.m., and Saturday’s events go all day from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. This traditional German festival will include live music, carnival rides, arts and crafts, and—of course—German cuisine and beer! Bring the whole family! Admission is free, but bring along some cash for vendors at the event.
Art in the Park – October 7th and 8th
Art in the Park is an annual event sponsored by the Huachuca Art Association. For artists, it is a time to showcase your craft and set up shop with a booth in the park. For art enthusiasts, it’s a great opportunity to browse unique gifts and treasures from local artists and support their hard work. Only original artwork will be sold at this free event held on October 7th and 8th at Veterans Memorial Park. The deadline for vendor applications is September 15th, so don’t miss your chance to sign up!
Sky Island Tour 2023 – October 7th
Explore Sierra Vista by bike with the Sky Island Tour, which takes place on October 7th. There are several routes that riders can complete, ranging from a flat, 5-mile loop through the Country Club Estates to a challenging 62-mile ride that traverses the Mule Mountains with 3,200 feet of elevation gain and passes through Bisbee, AZ, crossing the San Pedro River twice. There is also a 20-mile scenic ride to Ramsey Canyon, a 30-mile out-and-back route toward Hereford, and a 44-mile ride with dedicated rest stops along the way. Most rides will include sections on public roads that are not closed to vehicle traffic, so riders will need to exercise caution and be aware of their surroundings. All rides begin and end at the Mall at Sierra Vista. Proceeds will benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Southeastern Arizona. Riders can register up to the day of the event and get a free safety check on their bikes from M&M Cycling during the week prior to the event.
Cars in the Park – October 14th
Cars in the Park is the annual gathering of the Sierra Vista Car Club, which will showcase vintage and rare vehicles at Veterans Memorial Park on October 14th. Registration is limited to 300 entrants with awards for Best of Show and Top 10 up for grabs. The event will also include a raffle drawing for a 1965 Mustang. Anyone is welcome to check out the cars on display from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Huachuca Gem, Mineral, & Jewelry Show – October 14th and 15th
Calling all rock hounds to the Huachuca Gem, Mineral, & Jewelry Show! Taking place October 14-15, this event showcases demonstrations and displays of fossils, jewelry, gems, minerals, and more with vendors from all over the world. The show is held at the Mall at Sierra Vista, and admission is free!
Sonoita AVA New Release Festival – November 11th
Wine lovers won’t want to miss the Sonoita AVA New Release Festival, which is a celebration of the end of a busy harvest season showcasing newly released wine and soon-to-be-released wine straight from the barrel. Other wineries and local distilleries will be onsite as well, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy! Leave the kids at home and check out this fun festival on Saturday, November 11th at Sonoita Vineyards.
